You give donations/food with expectation of gaining popularity, that’s not giving.

You hear their stories only because you expect in return that you can tell yours.

You help your friend get a job and then feel angry when she isn’t as proactive in offering you support.

You cover for your coworker because you know you’ll need their assistance next month.

You get gifts only to expect something back in return. — These are just some real world examples but We’re one way or the other always giving with expectations in return. Whether it’s love, business, charity, etc.

This is one of the biggest reason why a mother’s love for her child is different to every other, it’s because the love is unconditional without any expectation in return.

And no it’s not only you, everyone suffers from this. It’s how you get out of it.
While giving itself is a great feeling, doing without any expectation in return is magical.
